What is Opening Range Breakout (ORB)?

Opening Range Breakout uses the high and low formed in the first 30 minutes of trading (9:15–9:45 AM IST) as key levels. A breakout above the range signals a call entry; a breakdown below signals a put entry.

When do AKTV Sniper signals fire?

Signals fire between 9:15 AM and 2:30 PM IST on Indian trading days. PDH/PDL signals fire from 9:15 AM; ORB and Supertrend signals from 9:45 AM. Signals only fire when India VIX is below 19.

Why does AKTV Sniper use a VIX filter?

AKTV Sniper only generates signals when India VIX is below 19. High VIX means high volatility and unpredictable swings, which increases options premium cost and reduces breakout signal reliability.

What is PDH/PDL breakout?

PDH (Previous Day High) and PDL (Previous Day Low) are key support and resistance levels. A break above PDH signals bullish momentum for call options; a break below PDL signals bearish momentum for put options.

What is AKTV Sniper?

AKTV Sniper is a free real-time options signal tool for NIFTY and SENSEX, built for retail option buyers. It monitors the index continuously during market hours and fires precise signals with a recommended strike price, option premium range, capital required, and stop loss. Signals are delivered on this page, on Telegram (@aktvsignals), and via browser push notifications.

Sniper uses four proven intraday strategies and filters all signals through India VIX — signals are suppressed automatically when VIX is above 19, which indicates excessive volatility unfavourable for option buyers. On MCX, Sniper also tracks Crude Oil and Gold options using PDH/PDL and Supertrend strategies.

Strategies Used

ORB — Opening Range Breakout

Tracks the high and low formed between 9:15–9:45 AM. A breakout above or below this range with EMA alignment triggers the signal. One of the most reliable intraday setups in index options.

Window: 9:45 AM – 2:30 PM

CPR — Central Pivot Range

Calculated from the previous day's High, Low, and Close. When price breaks above the Top Central (bullish) or below the Bottom Central (bearish) with momentum, CPR fires. Works best on trending days with ADX above 20.

Window: 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM

PDH/PDL — Previous Day High/Low

PDH and PDL are the strongest daily support/resistance levels. A breakout above PDH signals bullish momentum. Backtested on one year of NIFTY data with a 72.5% win rate using SL of 100 points and target of 40 points.

Window: 9:20 AM – 2:30 PM

Supertrend (ATR 10,3)

ATR-based Supertrend calculated from 15-minute candles. Fires when Supertrend flips direction with EMA confirmation. Best suited for trending days identified via ADX on Market Pulse.

Window: 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM

How to Read a Signal Card

Each signal shows the index, direction (BULLISH/BEARISH), recommended strike with option type (CE for calls, PE for puts), premium range (entry zone in ₹), capital required for one lot, and a stop loss zone. The strategy badge tells you which setup triggered it. For intraday trades, target 30–50% premium gain and exit before 2:30 PM to avoid time decay.

Backtested Performance

AKTV's PDH/PDL strategy for NIFTY was backtested on one full year of Angel One data: 72.5% win rate (SL = 100 pts, Target = 40 pts) with ADX ≥ 20 filter. SENSEX PDH/PDL showed 62% win rate. Past backtested performance does not guarantee future results.
